Tom Lupori, Founder

In 1995, after serving as an IRS Special Enforcement Agent for more than 30 years, Tom left the government and went into private practice with Ron Henrickson, a friend and former Special Agent with the IRS. Together, they established Henrickson & Lupori, a firm that advocated on behalf of taxpayers throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Henrickson & Lupori, for more than a decade, advanced the rights of taxpayers—entrepreneurs, small business owners, and professionals—against a backdrop of increasingly complex tax laws that led to the increasing and ever-evolving needs of taxpayers.

Following Ron's retirement in 2008, Tom and his stepson, Nick, formed Lupori & Associates, a firm focused, foremost, on maintaining client trust and rapport, meeting planning and filing needs, and offering thoughtful tax consultation and, when necessary, advocacy and representation. The cornerstone of Lupori & Associates’ philosophy, though, is the belief that, as Tom always insisted, “tax work is people work”; if you don’t know your clients as people, as families, if you don’t care about earning their confidence, then you will never learn about their needs in the present or how to help them plan for the future. For Tom and Nick, an authentic connection to clients will always stand as the governing ethos for effective tax professional.
